I noticed many of the members are interested in this subject of truth and life's purpose. I would be interested in hearing from members who wish to share what questions they have regarding this.
We are never separate from truth. There is no escaping truth as we are truth itself. What is possible is to think it otherwise. We think or feel separate from truth. This is the result of what we have learned as being imperative to survival and those who have never questioned what conclusions they have drawn to what is neccessary for survival. We have put meaning and thought to everything and it is now so ingrained in us that we can not see the Truth (reality) because of our ideas and reactivity to it. We can not see the forest for the trees so to speak.
There is now way out of now or presence or consciousness it is just that our attention goes to what is not true which generally is thinking, feeling or imagining. When we risk NOT relying on the thoughts and feelings and simply just look to see what is also here in every moment. We find the entrance to truth. That which does not grab our attention because it is silent and empty and never changes and is easily overlooked.
Those who question the purpose of life have tasted this at one time or another and once known it is never forgotten. We feel we lose this truth that it comes and goes and here in lies our dilemma. So we contiue to search. But we seek with the mind and the mind can not understand its own source. The mind is often maligned on the path becuase it is blamed for our confusion and suffering but in reality the mind is trying to help us find truth. It is attempting an impossible task. The mind as the subject seeks truth as an object. But because reality is the subject and the mind is an object, the mind can never discover truth. We all know the mind and know our thoughts and this is our proof that mind is an object and who we truly are is the subject or the knower.
This also shows us that we are not the mind. We are not the thoughts and the emotions that are triggered by thoughts. Thought and emotion are more tied to the human body and follow the laws of nature. But all of this arises in consciousness itself. Also called awareness, emptiness and silence and many other names and descriptions. Consciousness knows thought. We are the knower. But even the we should be thrown out. Consciousness is the knower. Knowing is source. Nothing exists without knowing. I am not talking about thought or thinking and that kind of knowing. I am talking about a knowing that starts and ends in knowing. Not understood not explainable but a mystery.
If one slows down enough to look at this knowing you will notice it has been there the whole life. You have always known. You have known your whole life. Every single experience has been known. the experiences come and go and continuously change but the knowing remains the same. In silence let this knowing be dominant and leave the thought and emotions to go on by themselves in the background.
Remain with the silent, aware, knowing that has no thought, feeling, judgement or opinion. See if there is anything missing in this. See if there is any beginning or end to it and see if all experience occurs within this silence.
Investigate for yourself and see if is not familiar and has not always been there. See if it is you.
